An inspiring movie to save Mother Earth

Today I watch an inspring movie on You tube.I feel very touched and moved by the video.

Please spare 1 hour 30 minutes of your time to watch this video because it contains important messages that is going to shape our future!!! Most of us have forgotten how much the Earth have supported us and we starts taking all the blessings for granted. The video starts by telling how life is first formed on earth and ends by urging us we all play a role to make our HOME a sustainable place to support our living.

As a habitant on Earth,I feel obliged to share the movie link to you here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU

Just copy the URL link and paste it to your browser to watch the movie.
Besides,you can also search this movie with its title:"HOME (English with subtitles)" on You tube.

We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth's climate.

The stakes are high for us and our children.Everyone should take part in the effort because we are one family and we share a common HOME-the Earth!Every species on Earth are closely related to one another to support one another in the ecosystem.It is a crucial time for us to come together to save our Mother Earth, our HOME from depletion of resources and global warming.We can start doing our bits by practicing recycling, car pooling, reducing the usage of plastic bags...in our daily life.The future of Mother Earth lies in our hands.

A contemplation towards selflessness

"Sometimes things do not turn out like what we have expected,
but I will choose to give my best to achieve what I have targeted....
even if I fail to achieve the target at the end,
I have no regrets and disppointment."

I met with a friend recently. He started to tell me all his unsatisfaction for all his bad fortunes. This is why I contemplate for some time and share my views here.

Some people are unhappy because they do not dedicate themselves towards selflessness. Selflessness in serving the family,selflessness in serving the society and so on...They hope their effort to be known and kindly repay. At the end, when things go against their expectations, they become very disappointed and therefore fulled of complaints!This is where they started to blame others for the outcomes.This is the actual cause that are causing all their unhappiness.

There is only one way if you want to find real happiness and peace in your life-dedicate wholeheartedly to selflessness. Instead of thinking what can the others do for me,what can I really do for the good of others?

HURRAY! My offer letter arrived!

I woke up quite late this morning because "stoleing chicken" (surfing the net until late at night)yesterday. Chewing a piece of "roti canai" as my breakfast, I felt emotionless and tired.This few days I did not have enough sleep because the heart is longing for my USM offer letter to come...The longing is terrible...The registration day is getting closer and closer.The offer letter is important because the letter contains information which tells the students to prepare what kind of documents on registration day.I cannot be rushing everything out like mad before registration day...

"Why Mr Postman still haven't come with my offer letter...?"

As I am still wondering with these thoughts,I heard a familiar motorbike sound outside my house gate.There comes the noble Mr Postman!

I ran outside the house to the front gate like a wild stallion...

"Mr Postman, do you have my letter?"I said anxiously.

"Here you are!"the postman smiled,handling over a parcel from USM to me.

Overjoyed, I thanked the postman and ran back into my house to open the parcel.

I was so delighted to see my offer letter and a manual book inside the parcel.

HURRAY,I am so happy because I am going to the university next week!

Finally all my hard work and sleepless night during form 6 paid off.This offer letter meant a lot to me. I should thank my parents, teachers and friends for their support. Now it is the time to begin a new journey of my life.^^

Mother Teresa Quotes

This morning I read about an uplifting quote of Mother Teresa posted by my friend in facebook.Loving-kindness is boundless and transcends space and time.I am inspired by the article and hope to share with you here:

Mother Teresa Quotes

"People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway
"

Song of Guidance

"Due to Diligence and passion,
there is no idleness;
Due to a Big Heart, there is no miserliness;
Due to Wisdom and Compassion,
there is no foolishness;
Due to Respect for the practitioners,
there is deep faith in truth and affinity."

Last Tuesday,I felt a strong will to go to visit my Dharma teacher,Master Fa Hang. I have been attending Master's Dharma talk when I was studying in school and participating in Buddhist society.I did went to the temple to meet her with a few dumplings I bought from the market.

Master Fa Hang was so delighted to see me coming to visit her...

Master asked me:"Where you've been?You are like an ash,disappearing from the world because I have not heard of your news for a couple of months after you graduated from school."

I apologised and replied :"Master,I'm quite busy and lost this couple of months.I managed to get a part-time job and keep on working...and working. After I went back home,I felt tired and sleep...thats my lifestyle for this couple of months...work,eat and sleep."

Master smiled and said,"No matter how busy you are,remember to take the Dharma with you. Always reflect on yourself and cultivate goodness."

I nodded and asked Master the reason why I'm feeling urgent to meet her since yesterday."Because I'm thinking of you recently,"Master answered...

I laughed and agreed. Master is quite overjoyed when I told her that I am going to further my studies in USM,Penang soon...

Before I left, I bowed and waved goodbye to Master,promising that I will come back to visit her again soon.

The coming across of Dharma has changed my life. Master are always there to guide and advise me to change for the better when I first joined the Buddhist Society in school two years ago.

I am grateful to meet a great mentor and teacher in my life...^^

A Dream

Yesterday,I dreamed I was in a haunted house...Horrified,I ran for my life. Unfortunately,there is no door in that haunted house. There is no way out of that horrifying place...The fear is so immense...

I wake up from my dream with chills and sweats all over my body...

Allowing myself to calm a bit,I said to myself in relief: It was just a DREAM!next time I have the same dream,I will not be so terrified because I know it is unreal...The only way out of a haunted house is not holding on the conditions and freeing our heart from fear!

Happy Wesak Day

Today is Wesak Day. The full moon of Wesak is singularly the most significant Buddhist holiday of the year. I wake up early in the morning to go to a Mahayana Buddhist temple with my family to join the celebration.

I am glad to see many devotees inside the temple. As I step into the temple, what that come to my first vision is a small image of the baby Buddha in front of the altar in a small basin filled with water and decorated with flowers. Kneeling down with respect in front of the altar, I pour water over the statue. It is symbolic of the cleansing of bad karma in us and as a reminder to cultivate loving kindness.
Wesak day is an important day for Buddhist. Regardless of traditions and nations, Buddhist from all over the world celebrates this auspicious day by various ways -- offerings to the Sangha, chantings and services. It commemorates the birth, enlightenment (Nirvana), and passing away (Parinirvana) of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha 2500 years ago in India. This significant day reminds Buddhist to pay homage to the Buddha by following His teachings in the Dharma.

There are many elements of in reflecting on the Buddha’s life story. Many of us are dissatisfied with our lives. Some hope for more money to buy a new car, house, the list goes on. Suffering comes when there are cravings in our lives. When we look at Prince Siddhartha Gautama, he had about as much as anyone could hope for; a loving family, talent, health, privilege, opportunity for studying, and he was heir to the throne. But when he encountered the universal predicament of old age, sickness and death, he gave up all his worldly pleasures to embark on a road of Noble lineage in quest of a Way to end all the sufferings. When he finally achieved enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree, he was known as the Buddha which means “The Enlightened One” and started to teach the Dharma.

Tradition ascribes to the Buddha himself instruction on how to pay him homage. Just before he passed away, he saw his faithful attendant Ananda, weeping. In the Diamond Sutra: The Buddha explains that “everything that has a form is unreal and will disintegrate with time.” The Buddha advised him not to weep, but to understand the universal law that all compounded things (including even his own body) must disintegrate. He advised everyone not to cry over the disintegration of the physical body but to regard his teachings (The Dhamma) as their teacher from then on, because only the Dhamma truth is eternal and not subject to the law of change. He also stressed that the way to pay homage to him was not merely by offering flowers, incense, and lights, but by truly and sincerely striving to follow his teachings.

Although the Buddha has not been around us for 2500 years, His teachings still remain in our hearts. May the celebration of Wesak brings peace and harmony to our hearts, our country and our world…Happy Wesak Day!

Unexpected Win by the Koreans

Yesterday I watched the sensational play between the Korean team with the China team in the Uber Cub's final...I admired the Koreans' fighting spirits and courage. Imagine playing with with the top seeded players on the court!I nearly got an "heart attack" by watching the way they play. Finally the Koreans emerged as champions of the Uber Cub,beating defending champion,China.

The same fighting spirits of the Koreans should be applied to our everyday life.Whenever we fall down,stand up,rise up and continue to play the game!If we fail in an attempt,we should never give up and try again and again.They are no real failures in life.There are only people that just gives up after meeting with some obstacles.The obstacles are merely a good experience for us to improve for the better.

When we can see this,we will be happy and calm all the time.Life is a badminton match!Do not mind whether you will win or lose up in the match.Just give your best and hope for the best!There are no permanent winners and losers on the court!At the end of the game,the feeling of contentment is our best reward.

The Power of Our Thoughts

Whenever we feel stressed up and held down by setbacks in life, some of us will start thinking of all the bad things that will soon happen to us following the setbacks. I have read a book with a title : “The Power of Our Thoughts” last week. I hope what I share today will be able to enlightened you to get hold of your thoughts and become the Master of you own destiny!

If you have this kind of thought, you are not defeated by the setback. You are ruined by your own negative thoughts! If you are sad, you become even sad and cannot see the true picture of your life.

The theory is about the power of thoughts. The substrates we have is that there are many possibilities that can happen in life. Our life changes with our thoughts. We are a person that mould our own thoughts. When we think of misery and unhappy things in the past, you will definitely live your life in sorrow. Do not be disheartened by failures and setback of life. Think in the positive manner and you will see all the wonderful ways that you can bring up in your life. Even simple things like the singing of birds and beautiful scenery can make us feel happy in our way!

If you ask about my view about life, I will conclude that life is full of challenges. There is a few important stages in life: the time we are born, childhood, adulthood, marriage, the first time we get a job, old age...and finally is death. You will take your life seriously by knowing that you become older by every second and minute from now on! So love life and live life to the fullest to upgrade our spiriture level! I believe there is no death. Only our body and organs will die when we are old .But the spiriture part of us is eternal and continue to live again and again in the form of transformation of energy.

Cheer up! I am happy I am still alive and still have the chance to experience life and upgrade myself in the different stages in life...I hope you too enjoy life and learn about the precious part of life. Throw away all the unhappy thoughts by downloading in positive thoughts into our brains...Love yourself, Love your family, Love our country, Love mankind, Love our environment...

The equation of Happiness:
LOVE+FORGIVE+GRADEFUL-HATRED-SORROW-WORRY=HAPPINESS

Let’s start our voyage of life with courage and hope. We are now captains for the ship! Our destination is a place called HAPPINESS!

Three reasons people can't cope in life...‏

Sometimes our life just gets too serious...too busy...and too complicated. We don't mean for it to happen, but we wake up one morning to discover the fun has slipped away.

A few years ago a health study determined there are 3 main reasons people can't cope in life:

1)They live in the past.
2)They have a low self-esteem.
3)They can't laugh at themselves.

In fact, the study indicated that we need approximately 12 laughs a day to stay healthy!Laughter is always a good medicine to cure any wound of our past.

I heard a story not long ago about a guy who sent flowers to his friend who was opening a new restaurant. When he arrived at the grand opening, he looked for his flowers. Well, when he found them, he saw that he had sent a white wreath that said, "May you rest in peace." He panicked, of course, and called the florist who said, "Bob, I'm not worried about you because as we speak, there's a guy being buried who got a dozen roses that said, "Good luck in your new location!"

Ah yes...life throws us curve balls when we least expect it! And sometimes, just to stay sane, we need to sit back and laugh!

Ya,honest speaking,I myself met with a lot of setbacks in life.I have fail in exams before,having torn in a relationship...the list goes on.Some problems just cannot be solved and need some time for us to just forget about the pain and live for the future.

I think we should always be optimistic about life.Make your life as simple as possible.Learn to love yourselves before we can extend our love to love others.Love yourself does not mean that you are selfish.Eveyone in this world is unique.When you love yourself,you will value yourself more and do something to improve yourself in many aspects,whether physically or emotionally. Life may not be a smooth journey as we had ever thought.But sometimes the setbacks in life really makes us more mature and get some rewarding experience in other ways.Try our best and hope for the best!

My little students

I am happy to become a teacher of these little students during my long semester break after my stpm!When I see they smile and excited with what they have learned,I just forget all my worries.

Do not underestimated their small sizes!They are indeed naughty and very talkactive.Now I know being a teacher is not as easy as I thought. It is a great responsibility.

Thanks to my teachers who have thought me and guide me all the way during my schoolhood.I should salute my teachers...I was also that naughty when I was young.

This two months of working is rewarding as it reminds me to appreciate my teachers and parents more.

Love can save our world today

I am a passionate teenager who loves peace and every organism in the universe. After stop managing my blog for many years,I decide to put the task on my shoulder again and make it as a part of my daily routine.

In my blog,I will start off by telling my stories,my encounters and my discoveries on the meaning of life.There is no particular motive behind this.I simply thought that life is all about sharing and conneting with people.I think everyone play a role in making the world a better place for you and me,especially we are facing another crucial decade for the survival of our species.With more disasters and crimes happening around us,it is a time for us to really think deeply into the problem and take our heart out to care for our environment and every human being on Earth.
